A Few Words About Peter R. Kempson:

Peter R. Kempson, Assoc. AIA, comes to IS Architecture with experience in custom residential, multi-unit housing, academic, institutional, and historic preservation on work. His academic theses were on the sustainable and bio-climatic qualities of vernacular architecture and how to apply these to modern built environments and structures.

After receiving his Master of Architecture and Master of Architectural History from the University of Virginia in 2015, Peter worked in the Bay Area before moving to Southern California. Over his career, Mr. Kempson has provided architectural services on a wide range of projects in Southern California, with a special focus on historic preservation on projects. During this time, he has gained a working knowledge of the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and meets the Secretary of the Interior Qualifications Standards for Historic Architecture, History and Architectural History (36 CFR Part 61). Peter’s interest lies in the intersection of history, technology, and urban life.
