ISA welcomes Rebecca to the team!
IS Architecture is proud to welcome Rebecca McManus to the team as a Historic Preservation Specialist! Rebecca comes to us with a background in historic preservation, architectural history, and archaeology. She brings with her a love for cultural landscapes, adaptive reuse, and historic building materials and technologies.
Rebecca’s undergraduate education was in Classical archaeology. She had plans to continue her education as an archaeologist, but while studying in Greece she had an opportunity to learn from the architect in charge of reconstructing the Propylaea on the Athenian Acropolis. She decided then and there, while standing on top of an ancient monument, that she wanted to do more than bring historic architecture to light – she wanted to help bring it back to life. Three years and one Masters degree in Historic Preservation later, she began to seek out a company whose work embodied her passion for reviving and protecting historic resources. She found that company in ISA and joined as the firm’s second Historic Preservation Specialist in July, 2016.
You can find out more about Rebecca and the rest of our team on our Studio page.
