City of San Diego Historic Site No. 836, Pacific Building Company Spec House No. 2
The Pacific Building Company-built residence is in excellent condition and retains a high level of integrity (per the guidelines set forth by the National Park Service). The building is eligible for designation as a historic resource by the City of San Diego under Citeria C – Architecture. This assertion is based on archival research and field examination determining it to be a strong example of the Prairie Style Vernacular Architecture that was popular throughout Southern California during the early 1910s. Furthermore, the house represents an architectural style that has become associated with many of San Diego’s historic neighborhoods and properties.
