IS Architecture’s Projects Receive Two SOHO Awards

ucsd-uhouse-11We are so excited to have been selected as a recipient of two prestigious 2015 SOHO People in Preservation Awards! This year, IS Architecture is being honored for the Rehabilitation of the UCSD Audrey Geisel University House in La Jolla, California. The jury commended the research and efforts that went into paying proper respect to the site as a Native American Sanctified Cemetery. It was also noted how IS Architecture went above and beyond in reconstructing original elements, while balancing the complex contemporary needs of the University of California, San Diego and its Chancellor.

kruse-mid-century-modern-kesling-02The second award is given in honor of homeowners Anne and Richard Kruse, for their commitment to historic preservation in the addition to their 1946 early Mid-Century Modern home in La Jolla. They wanted to retain the historic character and integrity of the home, originally built by William Kesling, a notable builder of modernist houses.

This brings our SOHO award count up to 6!
