The property is a prominent feature on the cultural landscape of the Kensington Park Extension due to its historical, architectural, and aesthetic contributions to the surrounding area. Furthermore, it has a strong historical association with a person significant to the judicial history of San Diego and is an excellent example of single-family residential Spanish Colonial Revival architecture. Eligibility for designation is supported by high levels in all six aspects of historic integrity as established by the National Park Service.
