Historical research indicates that this residence is architecturally significant at the local level.
The building derives significance as a property which exemplifies and reflects the historical and architectural
development of the second phase of Loma Portal development. Most importantly, it is an excellent example of a
modest English Cottage Eclectic style house constructed during the period of 1920 to 1940.
The property is determined to be eligible for listing in the City of San Diego Historical Resources
Board Register. It is presented to the San Diego Historical Resources Board for designation under local Criterion C as
an excellent example of a English Cottage Eclectic style house constructed in Loma Portal during Loma Portal’s
second phase of development.
