Larny J. MackDramatically sited on a sloping view lot in Point Loma, architect Ralph Frank’s 1935 Colonial Revival residence had been victimized by past remodels and additions that left the master bathroom tragically dated and all but blind to the views of downtown, the bay and harbor.
So the homeowners asked Architect Ione R. Stiegler for help. She and Project Manager Joseph M.Reid responded with a design that transformed the suite into a simple and elegant sanctuary classic in form and true to the period. The new space takes full advantage of the panorama of views. Stiegler [and Reid] used light shades of whites, grays and blue, white painted cabinets, white subway tile and white-gray marble to create a soft tonal blend without being sterile.
